Spent this week at Hyatt Pune and stumbled upon a gem – Cafe 88. The vibes are as delightful as the food. A big shoutout to Chef Mahesh for the culinary magic and to Athesu for ensuring the service was on point. And of course, hats off to Soumen, the restaurant manager, for steering the ship so well. Keep up the good vibes, team! 🌟

The service was excellent. I sat in the open as it was giving more opportunity to talk as I went with my family. I ordered ala carte and my requests to serve the food outside of menu was complied to. The taste of all items were great. In the end, we were offered complimentary pastries and icecream which made the whole thing a sweet affair. The only downside was billing as they billed for an extra big bottle of water and I reealized the same later. Possibly it was due to some confusion as we got the small bottle exchanged for big and they billed for both. Overall a great experience and I will visit again.

The best place for food, quality time and ambience. A huge variety in lunch buffet. Ambience is amazing. Separate seating areas for large groups. Outdoor seating is superb too. Food was perfectly spiced without overbearing tastes and seafood was fresh. Salads, pita bread and seafood soup are a must try. Ample parking space and great service experience.

@1200++ buffer not at all worth. Few things to support are the place looks shabby, counters of salad, starters, soup, main courses are way apart and does not appeal at all. Salad is very basic and why would somebody dine for sliced onion, cucumber, beet and carrot? Just had two varieties of leaves and then bunch of pickles. There is no cheese here but the olives were good. They need to work on the salad counter big times. Soup was placed in one corner with couple of breads and papads while main course was on the other side walk. Dessert was only pastries. Moong dal was not made well and lacked the texture and taste both. If you went hungry you will get disappointed just like I did. Waiters have to be well groomed as well. Overall they need makeover and choice of delicacies must. Surrounding the open terrace is nice and green

The place has a good ambience. But the buffet options are very limited, especially for veg. Only 1-2 starters, that too was not hot.same case with noodles. Only 3veg sabji, in which one was basic bhindi. In the name of sweets they had only 4-5 pastries 2-3 dry barfis, no halwa, kheer etc. For rice they had only steam one. Overall disappointed by the spread. Not worth the price.

Hyatt is celebrating it's anniversary month and have introduced new menu at Eight Eight recently. They have a new head chef - Mr. Amol Patil and new F &B manager - Mr. Amit Kapoor and they treated us with some of the new additions to the menu. Chef's speciality is Italian and some of the Italian dishes we had were absolutely amazing. The place has really lavish interiors, great buffet spread, live counters and at least a dozen dessert offerings...and that dessert section is my favorite at Eight Eight. Below are some of the dishes that I really loved and are new additions to their menu. Mulligatawny Soup - is an English soup which originated from South Indian cuisine. The name originates from the Tamil words of chilli and water. It was really flavorful. Burrata cheese insalata - Insalata is an Italian styled salad. It had caramalized onions, cherry tomatoes and burrata cheese. All of us really loved this salad. Nadru ke shami kebab - A recipe from Kashmiri cuisine which I liked. Kebabs made from lotus stem and potatoes were crunchy from outside and moist from inside. Homemade Linguine primavera - Small pieces of pasta in the form of thin ribbons with fresh veggies and primavera sauce. The pastas are home made and this dish was a delight. Homemade Spinach Ricotta Tortellini - Ring shaped pasta with oodles of ricotta cheese and some spinach. Amazing dish! Mushroom and Veg Lasagna was another perfect dish and this would qualify as one of the top few lasagnas I have had till date. During the introduction chef had said that Italian food is his speciality and I had no doubts about that after having these pastas. And then came another surprise - Puneri Batata - an ordinary looking dry potato subzi with lots of groundnuts had hardly any visual appeal but the taste was incredible. Never have I appreciated a potato subzi in my life!!!! Hats off to the chef for this one! For desserts we headed to my favorite section and as always I was spoilt for choices. I had molten brownie which was yummmmmmmmm. Kesari gulab jamun was perfect. An Italian dessert - white chocolate apricot bavarian was also devoured and made for a perfect end to a lovely tasting. Do visit this place and try their new additions to the menu. Tales of their ambience and hospitality are well known and I need not say anything about that.
